On the 27th of March Digital October Сenter held a lecture by Verne Harnish, at which he  discussed the rules of behavior of a successful business. Harnish’s presentation took place with the support of publisher Mann, Ivanov & Ferber and as part of the “Economics of Happiness” lecture series.

“The undisputed expert in helping entrepreneurs grow their firms,” is how the vice-president of AOL, Ted Leonsis, describes Verne Harnish. Such a description rings true, because Harnish is the founder and CEO of Gazelles, Inc., which has for the last 30 years acted as a corporate university for mid-sized firms. Verne Harnish is also the founder of the worldwide entrepreneurial organization EO (MIT.

Verne states that four critical decisions form the foundation of firm’s strategy. A growing business needs tools that improve communication and strategic planning development. The main goals of these strategies are to triple profitability, increase competitiveness, and increase business turnover. Verne Harnish emphasizes the importance of reducing time wasted by executives so that they might focus more attention on the market and strategic planning.

The fundamental ideas that increase the real market value of a company and the well-being of its stockholders are based on a disciplined approach to business processes. All companies that wish to grow and prosper should adopt such an approach. During the lecture Verne discussed the important business decisions that allow companies to consistently generate high returns and constantly evolve.
